Principal Visual Designer
Job Overview:
Circle, an innovative financial technology firm operating in the burgeoning internet of money domain, is seeking a seasoned Principal Visual Designer to enhance the quality and coherence of user experiences, drive uniformity across different interfaces, and offer strategic direction and coaching to enable others to follow suit based on the groundwork you lay. Establising a profound understanding of customer needs, you will be responsible for shaping the visual identity as well as interaction frameworks for Circle's range of products, launching independent projects that directly contribute to customer satisfaction and business growth. This role involves close collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, and fellow designers to guarantee exceptional customer interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and promote foundational design elements used in our products
- Enhance and standardize the visual aesthetics of our design creations, with frequent iterations
- Utilize prototypes and motion graphics to convey design concepts effectively
- Ensure visual coherence across various customer touchpoints
- Uphold high visual standards, supporting successful product development initiatives
- Collaborate with product, engineering, brand marketing, and product design teams to ensure alignment and prioritization of design needs
- Contribute to an expanding design team, assisting in implementing best practices and processes as products scale
Role Requirements:
For Lead Visual Designer:
- Over 7 years of visual/UI design experience, contributing to the visual direction of projects
- Enjoyment of refining work to create positive user experiences
- Ability to convey complex ideas visually
- Understanding of cross-channel design experiences, particularly desktop to mobile
- Embrace a “less is more” design ethos
- Proficiency in utilizing design systems for everyday work
- Experience designing for diverse consumer and B2B/SaaS digital products
For Principal Visual Designer (in addition to Lead requirements):
- More than 12 years of visual/UI design experience, directly influencing the look and feel of projects, and taking ownership of end results
- Demonstrated impact of design choices on processes and business outcomes
- Ability to identify connections between work in different product areas to solve recurring challenges
- Regular involvement in enhancing overall design team processes and adopting systems thinking for presentation-layer components and basics
