Protocol Engineer (Client)
Logos is a movement focusing on advancing the decentralized web to foster a freer internet where communities can develop into network states. The Logos technologies aim to empower users while upholding civil liberties and fundamental freedoms through various protocols in the Logos stack.
The Role:
Codex is searching for a skilled protocol engineer to join their team of engineers and researchers in transforming decentralized storage. This cutting-edge solution integrates Zero Knowledge proofs, erasure coding techniques, peer-to-peer networks, and blockchain technologies to provide unmatched data durability and censorship resistance.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate within the p2p client team to develop, test, and maintain networking protocols.
- Identify and troubleshoot correctness, performance, and security bugs, along with creating custom tools when needed.
- Contribute to the development of a comprehensive testing approach, define workloads and network models, and implement them in the testbed.
- Develop new protocols or modify existing ones to meet evolving product requirements.
- Drive quality, enhance testability, and promote a culture of engineering excellence within the team.
Requirements:
- Deep expertise in decentralized and peer-to-peer systems, preferably backed by a PhD or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong interest in open source, potentially demonstrated through significant contributions.
- Proficiency in statically typed system programming languages like Rust, C/C++, Go, and an eagerness to work with an emerging programming language like Nim.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration in a fully remote and asynchronous team setting.
- Willingness to address complex problems publicly through presentations, blog posts, or academic papers and articulate solutions clearly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the capability to tirelessly debug challenging issues.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous exposure to decentralized storage networks or familiarity with the domain.
- Ability to engage with networking protocols from simulation/formal verification to implementation.
- Knowledge of compact and Zero-Knowledge proofs and their mechanisms.

- Follow-up interview with Codex team member.
- Final interview with the Project Lead.
Compensation:
The compensation will be in a negotiable range, depending on the evaluation of your skills and experience during the interview process. Payment can be offered in fiat, cryptocurrency, or a combination of both.
