Responsibilities
- Spearhead regulatory approval, authorization, and licensing pursuits in various LATAM jurisdictions through meticulous legal analysis and application handling.
- Formulate and execute Binance’s regulatory strategy customized for the LATAM market.
- Collaborate closely with business units to facilitate the introduction and expansion of new products and services in LATAM while ensuring regulatory compliance aligns with commercial objectives.
- Cultivate and manage robust relationships with LATAM regulators and government bodies.
- Stay updated on and relay regulatory developments and trends within the LATAM cryptocurrency and financial sectors.
- Offer clear and practical legal counsel to navigate intricate regulatory landscapes in LATAM.
- Play an active role in guiding Binance’s regulatory strategies and decisions in the LATAM region.
Requirements
- Qualified to practice law in one or more LATAM jurisdictions.
- Minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience, with significant exposure to regulatory affairs concerning financial institutions in LATAM.
- Blend of experience from esteemed law firms and relevant in-house legal roles within the LATAM region.
- Strong familiarity with financial products such as spot trading, margin trading, futures, options, and various payment methods pertinent to LATAM market landscapes.
- Demonstrated interest and understanding of the cryptocurrency sector and its regulatory frameworks in LATAM.
- Track record of managing financial product life cycles from inception to launch within LATAM is highly advantageous.
- Exceptional team collaboration skills enabling seamless cross-functional work across diverse teams.
- Ability to provide practical legal advice in complex and evolving regulatory settings.
- Proactive approach paired with a leadership mindset contributing to strategic decision-making.
- Proficient in written and spoken English, with competency in Spanish or Portuguese to effectively engage with local and global stakeholders.
