We are in search of a seasoned Animator to join our exciting venture, working on the expansive Metaverse project Seedworld using Unreal 5.3+.

As an animator, you will be tasked with the creation, maintenance, and optimization of character, prop, and vehicle rigs to integrate seamlessly within Unreal Engine 5. Collaborating closely with game designers, you will craft animations for characters, vehicles, and pets in Seedworld and troubleshoot animation requirements within Unreal Blueprint.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Game Designers and the Art Director to develop locomotion, vehicle, and prop animations.
  • Maintain existing rigs and create new custom rigs based on artistic vision.
  • Liaise with Art Directors, Technical Artists, and Developers to enhance efficiency in the production pipeline.
  • Stay updated on rigging and Unreal techniques for application in production.
  • Contribute ideas for prolonged asset usability.
  • Participate actively in technical and artistic discussions.
  • Provide work summaries and documentation for effective communication.
  • Address character animation issues and attend animation technical reviews.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of animation experience in the gaming industry with a AAA game shipped in the last 5 years.
  • Proficiency in Maya, Photoshop, Z-Brush, Mudbox, or equivalent software.
  • Extensive experience in character, prop, and vehicle animation tasks.
  • Development experience is beneficial, such as C++ proficiency.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience creating custom rigs in Maya.
  • Strong anatomical understanding for skinning.
  • Proficient in various animation types.
  • Familiarity with biped/quadruped locomotion, IK, and FK features.
  • Knowledgeable in facial rigging joints systems.
  • Strong grasp of tools, software, and game engines in current-gen development.
  • Ability to adapt to feedback and deliver within set timeframes.
  • Enjoys technical challenges in real-time game development.
  • 2 to 5 years of professional experience with game releases.
  • Reliable, committed, and keen on continual learning and improvement as an Animator.
  • Attention to detail, particularly with character deformations.
  • Experience in Unreal Engine 5 and grasp of Animation blueprint functionality.
