Senior Backend Engineer
The Uniswap Protocol, the leading decentralized trading and automated market making protocol on Ethereum, is seeking a passionate and driven Senior Backend Engineer to contribute to the development of cutting-edge financial products as part of the Uniswap Labs team. As a core member of our highly impactful team based in SoHo, New York City, you may have the option to work remotely.
Responsibilities
- Write and review high-quality, thoroughly tested code.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to transform requirements into exceptional products, taking charge of the end-to-end execution.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to peers in navigating architectural and coding tradeoffs.
- Drive strategic technical initiatives across engineering pods, exerting a significant impact on the entire engineering organization.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience.
- Proficient in coding with a deep understanding of cloud architectures, algorithms, and proficient debugging skills.
- Consistently manage projects, covering everything from gathering requirements and designing to debugging, testing, release management, and operational monitoring.
- Design, build, and maintain a large-scale cloud-based production system, ensuring smooth operation and high availability.
- Ability to build systems from scratch, taking projects from 0→1.
- Desire to stay updated on modern best practices in software development and Web3, actively influencing our tech stack while building new systems and services.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers.
Nice to have:
- Prior experience as a Technical Lead.
- Previous exposure to time-series based monitoring/observability systems.
- Degree in computer science.
- Proficiency in Typescript.
- Familiarity with AWS.
- Passion for unicorns.
Uniswap Labs offers a minimum full-time salary of $180,000-$220,000 annually, adhering to New York City's Pay Transparency Law. Full-time employees are eligible for additional compensation elements, including equity, tokens, and benefits based on the position type.
