Senior Backend Engineer

The Uniswap Protocol, the leading decentralized trading and automated market making protocol on Ethereum, is seeking a passionate and driven Senior Backend Engineer to contribute to the development of cutting-edge financial products as part of the Uniswap Labs team. As a core member of our highly impactful team based in SoHo, New York City, you may have the option to work remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Write and review high-quality, thoroughly tested code.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to transform requirements into exceptional products, taking charge of the end-to-end execution.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to peers in navigating architectural and coding tradeoffs.
  • Drive strategic technical initiatives across engineering pods, exerting a significant impact on the entire engineering organization.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Proficient in coding with a deep understanding of cloud architectures, algorithms, and proficient debugging skills.
  • Consistently manage projects, covering everything from gathering requirements and designing to debugging, testing, release management, and operational monitoring.
  • Design, build, and maintain a large-scale cloud-based production system, ensuring smooth operation and high availability.
  • Ability to build systems from scratch, taking projects from 0→1.
  • Desire to stay updated on modern best practices in software development and Web3, actively influencing our tech stack while building new systems and services.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers.

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience as a Technical Lead.
  • Previous exposure to time-series based monitoring/observability systems.
  • Degree in computer science.
  • Proficiency in Typescript.
  • Familiarity with AWS.
  • Passion for unicorns.

Uniswap Labs offers a minimum full-time salary of $180,000-$220,000 annually, adhering to New York City's Pay Transparency Law. Full-time employees are eligible for additional compensation elements, including equity, tokens, and benefits based on the position type.
