Primary Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, Product and Regulatory, the appointed Senior Counsel will spearhead legal coverage for the Circle Account and a diverse range of digital asset products. Tasked with collaborating with innovative product teams to leverage crypto assets and blockchain technology, you will drive the development of enhanced financial accounts for businesses while strategizing regulatory aspects within regulatory tumult concerning stablecoins and other digital assets.
Key Focus Areas:
- Offering end-to-end legal guidance for Circle Account and digital asset products, accompanied by cutting-edge blockchain solutions encompassing stablecoins, NFTs, and decentralized finance.
- Advising on compliance matters encompassing US and international laws for digital assets and virtual asset service providers, focusing on international expansion and licensing.
- Supporting Legal team towards structuring processes, protocols, and benchmarks to bolster overall legal service efficiency.
- Mitigating legal risks through business-oriented initiatives, implementing problem-solving strategies, fostering alliances, and pursuing opportunities.
- Staying abreast of pertinent crypto and digital currency trends to maintain robust product sector coverage.

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree and active law license in good standing in at least one state.
- Over 5 years of experience as in-house counsel advising product teams or leading regulatory consultations, preferably in fintech or institutional financial services.
- Keen interest in financial technology and documented proficiency in addressing cryptocurrency or blockchain issues.
- Competence in navigating AML/CFT regulatory frameworks for digital assets on a global scale.
- Enthusiastic team player with a penchant for learning and mentoring.
- Track record in regulated settings or engagements with governmental entities.
- Rapid learning ability that facilitates adaptation to new business sectors and technological advancements.
- Strong interpersonal skills, business partnership development, and work ethic, with proficiency in Google Suite, Slack, and Apple MacOS being beneficial.
