Responsibilities:
As the Senior Counsel reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, Product and Regulatory, you will oversee legal matters pertaining to Circle's account offerings and various digital assets. Collaborating with dynamic product teams, you will guide initiatives leveraging cryptocurrency expertise and blockchain solutions, shaping regulatory strategies for stablecoins and digital assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on legal aspects of Circle's account and digital asset products, including cutting-edge blockchain offerings like stablecoins, NFTs, and DeFi.
- Ensure compliance with both US and international regulations concerning digital assets and virtual asset services, with a focus on global expansion and licensing.
- Assist in developing and implementing legal processes to enhance the effectiveness of legal services provided by the team.
- Mitigate legal risks through proactive problem-solving approaches, fostering partnerships, and seizing growth opportunities.
- Stay informed on industry developments in cryptocurrency and digital currency to offer comprehensive coverage in product areas.

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree and active law license in good standing in at least one state.
- 5+ years of in-house counsel experience advising product teams or leading regulatory coverage, preferably in fintech or financial services.
- Strong interest in financial technology, with a background in cryptocurrency or blockchain matters.
- Knowledge of global AML/CFT regulatory frameworks for digital assets.
- Collaborative team player with a sense of humor and a willingness to mentor.
- Experience in regulated environments or working with government entities.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new business domains and technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, business acumen, and proficiency in Google Suite, Slack, and Apple MacOS.
Additional Details:
- Day-one PERM sponsorship available for eligible candidates.
- Competitive compensation package includes base pay ranging from $180,000 to $237,500, with an annual bonus target of 15%.
- Benefits include equity, medical, dental, vision, 401(k), discretionary vacation policy, paid sick leave, as well as 11 paid holidays per year in the U.S.
