About the Role:

Join Limit Break as a standout Unity Engineer to lead a thrilling new venture. We are embarking on an innovative journey to develop a cutting-edge, mid-core, 3D mobile game from concept to reality.

As a key player, you will collaborate closely with a dynamic team to shape and refine the game's prototype, ensuring alignment with stakeholders. As the project gains momentum, you will scale the team from pre-production to full production by working with leads and directors in various disciplines.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively engage in coding, performance optimization, and addressing complex technical challenges.
  • Lead the development process, establish milestones, and ensure the team meets deadlines and project objectives.
  • Execute a new Unity 3D game project from initial prototype to full production.
  • Collaborate closely with design leads and team members to iterate rapidly on the game prototype.
  • Work across different teams, such as design, art, production, and engineering, to identify key areas and devise effective solutions for each development phase.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively, assuming varied roles if necessary, to ensure project and team progress.
  • Enhance and enforce processes, pipelines, and best practices for game development.
  • Conduct code and architecture reviews to uphold high standards.
  • Explore and integrate new technologies and methods to boost workflow efficiency and create secure, maintainable games and applications.

Qualifications:

  • Prior software engineering experience with Unity 3D game development.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ownership in work.
  • Experience in developing a game from prototype to launch and shipping, ideally using Unity.
  • Effective collaboration across a range of technologies.
  • Strong foundations in systems architecture, software design, and best practices for production software development.

Nice to have. What an ideal candidate looks like:

  • Proficient in English and Japanese languages.
  • Thorough comprehension of Unity 3D game and tools development, including live service tooling and management.
  • Expanded knowledge of available Unity plugins and assets for game development.
  • Experience in Free-to-Play (F2P) gaming.
  • Experience with AWS and cloud-native application development.
  • Experience in live service mobile games.
