Description
Acting as the leader of the department, you will take on the responsibility of overseeing company-wide risk and regulatory compliance efforts while developing and executing risk and regulatory frameworks in a fast-paced, high-growth setting.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the company's risk management program, establishing an Enterprise Risk Management framework that encompasses policies, procedures, assessments, methodologies & tools, and governance framework for the French entity and the MTF.
- Independently review and challenge Risk Management information, ensuring its scope, timeliness, and effectiveness while fostering a culture of effective risk management and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to the company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls as per the Company's Risk Appetite. Build, implement, maintain, and improve internal controls to mitigate risk continuously.
- Monitor and identify risk-related issues requiring escalation to management. Uphold internal control standards, implementing internal and external audit points promptly, along with addressing any concerns raised by external regulators. This role necessitates strong relationship-building skills to collaborate cross-functionally throughout the organization with various business and functional stakeholders, including product, data, legal, IT, etc., as well as external regulatory bodies and governing authorities.
- Stay abreast of regulatory compliance, such as MiFid and technical standards, on a regular basis. Collaborate with development teams to devise necessary tools and solutions.
- Establish real-time monitoring and surveillance dashboards to proactively track KPIs/OKRs and react to business performance effectively.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in risk management (risk, compliance, legal, audit) in the EU.
- Background in working in an EU MIFID/EMIR regulatory environment in a risk-related capacity, with a solid understanding of risk and control frameworks.
- Prior experience in a low-latency environment would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with chargeback and fraud prevention in the context of cryptocurrency is advantageous.
- Exhibit flexibility in engaging with management and demonstrate a genuine interest in fostering the crypto ecosystem.
- Strong functional expertise, exposure to regulatory interactions, tech-savvy, and meticulous attention to detail are essential.
- Proficient in applicable regulations and key regulatory regimes.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach, excellent prioritization, and execution abilities.
- Skilled at collaborating with various departments, self-motivated, and a cooperative team member.
- Fluent in English and French.
