Senior Software Engineer - Bitcoin Team

This role demands full-time presence at the Toronto office to support collaborative teamwork and innovative problem-solving efforts.

BitGo is in search of a seasoned Software Engineer (Full-Stack) to join the Bitcoin Team. With the processing of a substantial volume of cryptocurrency transactions, our applications must exhibit speed, accuracy, scalability, and security. Our integrated platforms engage with various exchanges, agencies, and governments globally, utilizing cutting-edge technology to build them.

Responsibilities

• Enhance multi-signature Bitcoin wallets with the latest Bitcoin features, managing billions of dollars monthly
• Take ownership of the functionality, scalability, and performance of systems supporting our Bitcoin products
• Enhance, extend, and maintain current backend software interfacing with the Bitcoin blockchain
• Offer Bitcoin expertise and knowledge to the engineering team
• Document and expose functionality to UI, third-party developers, and internal and external tooling

Required

• 5+ years of experience in Full-Stack software development
• Strong API design principles with a minimalistic approach
• Proficiency in Git and Github-based code review
• Enthusiasm for implementing advanced Bitcoin features on a large scale
• Strong belief in extensive testing prior to deployment and shipping
• Capacity to work independently in a high-paced environment

Preferred

• In-depth understanding of fundamental Bitcoin blockchain principles
• Proficiency with Node.JS, JavaScript, and Typescript for programming and debugging
• Familiarity with emerging Bitcoin features like Taproot, Descriptors, Lightning
• Noteworthy contributions to Bitcoin-related open source projects
• Experience in developing containerized apps running in Kubernetes

Pay Transparency Notice: The compensation for this role, averaging between $180,000 - $240,000 CAD base salary based on your level and location, includes equity and an annual performance bonus.
