Senior Software Engineer - Bitcoin Team

This role necessitates full-time on-site presence at our San Francisco office for fostering collaborative team dynamics and fostering innovative problem-solving strategies.

We are in search of a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Bitcoin Team at BitGo. Given our substantial cryptocurrency transaction volumes, it is imperative that our applications are designed to be fast, accurate, scalable, and secure. Our platforms are integrated with various global exchanges, agencies, and governments, and we utilize cutting-edge technology in the industry for our developments.

Responsibilities:

• Enhance our multi-signature Bitcoin wallets with the latest Bitcoin features, meticulously handling billions of dollars monthly
• Take ownership of the functionality, scalability, and performance of the systems supporting our Bitcoin products
• Enhance, extend, and maintain existing backend software interfacing with the Bitcoin blockchain
• Contribute Bitcoin expertise and knowledge across the engineering team
• Document and expose functionality for the UI, external tooling, and third-party developers

Skills & Experience:

Required:

• More than 5 years of Full-Stack software development experience
• Strong API design philosophy with a minimalist approach
• Proficient in git and Github for code review
• Enthusiasm for implementing advanced Bitcoin features at scale
• Advocate of rigorous testing before deployment
• Capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

• Thorough understanding of fundamental Bitcoin blockchain mechanics
• Proficient in programming and debugging utilizing Node.JS, JavaScript, and Typescript
• Familiarity with emerging Bitcoin concepts like Taproot, Descriptors, and Lightning
• Significance contributions to Bitcoin-related open source software
• Experience with building containerized applications in Kubernetes
