About the Senior Software Engineer Role
As a Senior Software Engineer on the CDI Engineering team, your responsibility will be to design, build, and test new and existing features on the Core Platform that supports the CDI business. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Governance, Product, and Sales teams to deliver on the technical roadmap and ensure that the backend services maintain high performance and scalability. As CDI's products are used by clients to inform their investment strategies, platform security and reliability are critical.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain backend features using Python/NodeJS.
- Collaborate with Product, Governance, and Sales teams to deliver on the product roadmap.
- Define backend requirements for tools that enhance the analysis, reporting, and display of indices data.
- Collaborate with software architects and technical leads to ensure decisions prioritize future scalability and reliability.
- Build infrastructure components that optimize the developer experience and platform performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, and implement solutions.
- Contribute technical documentation related to software architecture, coding frameworks, components, and technical decisions.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Mentor fellow engineering teammates.
About You
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, working on distributed systems at scale.
- Proficiency and demonstrated experience in the following technologies: Python, Java and/or C++, SQL, NoSQL, cloud-based development (ECS, Lambda), third-party tools (Kafka, Redis), web services/API layer (REST/JSON), build/dev tools (Docker, Git).
- Bonus points for familiarity with modern front-end technologies and frameworks like React/NextJs.
- Experience in DevOps methodologies, including Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Trunk Based Development.
- Well-versed in Agile Methodologies and previous experience working in a Scrum environment.
- Strong ownership, accountability, and efficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Full professional proficiency in English is required.
