Senior Software Engineer, Site Reliability Engineering

We are seeking a skilled individual to join our team dedicated to designing, developing, and enhancing software for various projects closely related to our core businesses. These projects are rapidly established with a streamlined team. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing different components for scalable applications, spanning from frontend UI to backend infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the overall stack's health, including hardware, software, applications, and network performance optimization.
• Investigate both critical and underlying reliability issues, collaborating with software and DevOps engineers to implement effective solutions.
• Enhance availability, reliability, observability, and automate tasks to minimize manual effort.
• Take the lead on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) initiatives to enhance operational efficiencies.
• Represent the SRE team in system design reviews and operational readiness evaluations for new and existing services.

Requirements

• Proficient in Ruby and/or Go languages.
• Familiarity with GitOps principles and related tools like Github Actions, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting extensive distributed systems.
• Curiosity to investigate incidents and outages thoroughly.
• Skilled in building relationships and driving impactful outcomes.
• Capability to design fault-tolerant system architectures.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and adaptive in uncertain situations.
• Well-versed in incident management and response strategies.
• Keen to expand knowledge, teach, and guide others.
• Quick learner with a proactive mindset to accomplish tasks efficiently.
• Willing to accept and implement better ideas, open to challenges and growth opportunities.

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of cloud platforms and microservices architecture, especially AWS.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Datadog and OpenTelemetry.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Github Actions.
• Proficiency in IaC tools such as Terraform and Spacelift.
• Expertise in designing resilient system architectures.
• Previous experience in optimizing performance of large-scale production systems.
