Senior Software Engineer, Site Reliability Engineering
We are a dynamic team dedicated to creating, enhancing, and maintaining software for diverse venture projects that align with our core businesses. These projects are rapidly launched with small, agile teams. As a valued member, you will actively contribute to designing various components of scalable applications, spanning from frontend UI to backend infrastructure.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure optimal performance and health of the entire technology stack, including hardware, software, applications, and networks.
- Investigate and address systemic and latent reliability issues in collaboration with software and DevOps engineers to implement effective solutions.
- Enhance availability, reliability, and observability while minimizing manual intervention through automation.
- Take charge of initiatives to enhance operational efficiencies within the SRE framework.
- Represent the SRE team in system design evaluations and operational readiness exercises for new and existing services.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in coding with Ruby and/or Go.
- Knowledge of GitOps principles and tools like Github Actions, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
- Eagerness to uncover root causes of incidents and downtime events.
- Ability to foster relationships, drive impact, and align development efforts.
- Strong desire to create fault-tolerant system architectures.
- Comfort with uncertainty and adeptness at managing ambiguity.
- Experience in incident management and response.
- Willingness to expand expertise and knowledge and support the growth of team members.
- Quick to learn new technologies with a proactive "get things done" mindset.
- Open-mindedness to embrace diverse perspectives and improve existing processes.
Preferred Profile:
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially AWS, and microservices-based architecture.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog and OpenTelemetry.
- Proficiency with continuous integration and deployment tools like Github Actions.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Spacelift.
- Expertise in designing resilient system architectures.
- Experience optimizing the performance of large-scale production systems.
