Job Summary
We are in need of a skilled VFX Artist to join our team working on a groundbreaking project, Seedworld, using Unreal 5.3.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality visual effects assets that strike a balance between performance, efficiency, and artistic vision to enhance the overall visual aesthetics and game performance.
- Conduct research, conceptualize, and create top-tier visual effects inspired by references to implement across various aspects of the game.
- Collaborate closely with the art director, game designers, and developers to ensure that the VFX align with the game's requirements while meeting artistic standards.
- Share expertise and best practices with team members, contributing actively to technical and artistic conversations and solutions.
- Document and summarize work for both internal and external communication purposes.
Requirements
- Over 4 years of experience in similar roles, including the release of one AAA game on PC or console.
- Proven track record in producing 2D and 3D stylized visual effects.
- Proficiency in Unreal game engine and Niagara, as well as software such as Maya, Blender, Houdini, Photoshop, Substance, and Embergen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of FX shader both visually and technically.
- Artistic proficiency that complements technical skills, facilitating collaboration with the Art Director.
- Thorough knowledge of 3D prerequisites before shader (UV, Texture) and the complete game pipelines.
- Experience in creating shaders/materials and ability to work swiftly, in an organized manner, and adapt well to feedback.
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities, proficient in English, and familiar with production values, deadlines, and priorities.
Additional Skills
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, HLSL, and Blueprints is advantageous.
