Currently, we are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead our engineering team as we continue to grow and expand our technological capabilities.

Reporting Structure: Director of Engineering

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership & Management
  • Manage and nurture a talented team of engineers, fostering their professional development and providing constructive feedback.
  • Recruit top-tier engineering talent, maintaining high standards in team composition.
  • Cultivate a high-performance team culture that emphasizes autonomy, accountability, and mutual respect.
  1. Delivery & Execution
  • Ensure the team consistently delivers high-quality work at a rapid pace, aligning technical expertise with business objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and research functions to drive project roadmaps and maintain alignment across departments.
  • Identify and mitigate obstacles to project progress, making appropriate trade-offs to keep initiatives on schedule.
  1. Technical Guidance & Process
  • Contribute to architectural discussions, review design proposals, and assist the team in making informed technical decisions.
  • Support engineers in enhancing their technical capabilities and sense of ownership.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance team efficiency, workflows, and methodologies without introducing unnecessary bureaucratic processes.
  1. Culture & Collaboration
  • Promote a culture of innovation, curiosity, and continuous learning among team members.
  • Foster a sense of shared purpose within the team and throughout the engineering department.
  • Play a role in defining and evolving the broader engineering culture as the company scales.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience managing engineering teams and a minimum of 5 years in software development, preferably within dynamic, product-centric organizations.
  • Proven track record of leading teams through growth, ambiguity, and rapid delivery cycles.
  • Strong technical acumen to challenge assumptions, guide the team, and make informed decisions, even in the absence of daily coding.
  • Deep passion for engineering craftsmanship and user-centric product development.
  • Ability to cultivate inclusive and supportive team environments that drive optimal performance.
  • Understanding of the interconnectedness between velocity and quality, with the ability to coach teams for success in both aspects.

  • Prior experience working on creative tools or AI/ML-powered products.
  • Experience navigating complex technical landscapes with high standards for security and quality.
