Staff Backend Engineer

We are currently seeking a talented Staff Backend Engineer to elevate our Digital Sports Collectibles team. In this position, you will be responsible for enhancing the speed, efficiency, and readiness for launch of our Sports Collectibles products.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan scalable backend systems to support high-performance user interactions across our primary platforms.
• Develop and maintain robust APIs and backend services with a strong emphasis on reliability, security, and ease of use for developers.
• Create intricate server-side logic to integrate blockchain technologies and manage high-throughput data workflows and transactions.
• Implement real-time monitoring and alert systems to identify and address performance bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
• Lead backend initiatives throughout the development lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to deployment and ongoing enhancements.
• Collaborate effectively with frontend, mobile, and product teams to deliver comprehensive solutions that are both high-performing and user-friendly.
• Supervise database design, administration, and optimization across multiple systems and services.
• Document system architecture, APIs, and processes for internal and external development stakeholders.
• Ensure secure and efficient handling of user data and interactions.
• Contribute to technical strategy development and provide mentorship to junior team members as a backend expertise resource.

Qualifications

• Possess 6+ years of backend engineering experience, with a preference for proficiency in Go (Golang) or similar high-performance backend languages.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable systems suited for production in a cloud-native environment.
• In-depth knowledge of API architecture, distributed systems, and database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Experience leading backend projects from inception to deployment.
• Strong proponent of clean code practices, testing, documentation, and best version control practices (Git).
• Proficiency working in Agile, cross-functional teams, delivering iteratively, and maintaining a long-term vision.
• A natural problem solver, passionate about technical challenges, and committed to delivering impactful solutions at scale.
• Enthusiasm for blockchain technology, gaming, and reshaping digital ownership.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in designing and implementing cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar).
• Background in blockchain technologies, smart contract integration, or NFTs.
• Previous involvement in developing backend tools that improve developer workflows or platform efficiency.
• Contribution to open-source backend frameworks or libraries.
