BitGo seeks a Staff Software Engineer to join their HeightZero team with an onsite role located in Palo Alto, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement scalable APIs, libraries, and services to seamlessly integrate blockchains and BitGo functions into HeightZero products.
  • Oversee feature development and scalability, ensuring end-to-end responsibility from research to deployment.
  • Create integration libraries and SDKs for server and API interactions.
  • Document and expose functionalities to UI, third-party developers, and internal/external tooling.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams and product managers to align on technical requirements and maintain work quality consistency.
  • Provide mentorship to peers via code reviews and knowledge sharing of best practices.

Skills & Experience:

Required:

  • Minimum 8 years of backend software development experience.
  • Proficiency in working autonomously within a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in unit and functional testing, as well as debugging.
  • Proficient in designing simple and extensible abstractions for complex systems.
  • Experience with Git/GitHub, branching methodologies, code review tools, and CI tools.
  • Strong grasp of algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
  • Previous exposure to designing and implementing a variety of databases.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge and experience in the blockchain and/or security sectors.
  • Passion for cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
  • Exposure to microservices and service-oriented architectures.
  • Familiarity with AWS Amplify, ELB, and EC2.
  • Real-world expertise in constructing scalable distributed systems.
