Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and assess surveillance tools and reports, analyzing trading and market activity, and expanding the program.
  • Establish policies, procedures, and tools to improve surveillance and control efforts in trading.
  • Utilize technologies and automation for monitoring electronic communications to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain oversight of surveillance recordkeeping in compliance with FINRA and SEC standards.
  • Support risk assessments, conduct regular testing to evaluate policy and control effectiveness within the Compliance team.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and other corporate functions to implement compliance technologies, controls, and processes.
  • Engage in firmwide compliance matters, liaise with Senior Legal and Compliance professionals and regulators.
  • Address industry-wide concerns, contribute to formulating responses to new regulations, trade patterns, and other initiatives.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years working at a Financial Service firm or regulatory agency.
  • Series 7 certification is mandatory. series 24, 57 qualifications are advantageous.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment, with flexibility to adjust priorities as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to consider diverse perspectives in a collaborative setting.
  • Build cooperative relationships across departments, particularly with technology and legal personnel.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels and regulators.
  • Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities:
Lead a team of Investagation specialists who conduct case investigations (includes analyzing transaction information, researching customer data, examining open source and media checks and deciding whether assets should be frozen, etc.).
Engage with key stakeholders and work cooperatively to present, create, develop and/or implement suggestions and recommendations regarding best practices, continuous improvement, policies and procedures.
Reporting and close collaboration with MLRO.
Use information from regulatory changes, new regulations, and internal policy changes to further identify new key risk areas and work together with other teams within the Compliance (i.e. KYC team) to set the necessary controls in place.
Evaluate performance with key metrics, track the Investigation team progress and success, and be able to present results to senior leadership.
Define and clearly communicate objectives and goals for the Investigation team.
Train the Investigation team, identify actions and ensure the skills and knowledge are developed effectively.
Serve as a primary point of contact and lead discussions with various internal and external stakeholders on the Investigation team side.
Requirements:
3+ years of relevant experience in Investigation/AML/Compliance.
2+ years team lead/managerial/supervisory experience of a team up to 20 employees.
Knowledge and experience with working with Chainalysis, Eliptic or other top-5 crypto KYT providers.
Strong knowledge of AML/CFT laws and regulations.
Exceptional analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage processes efficiently, with accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong decision-making capabilities and adoption of a solution-based approach in all aspects of work.
Passionate and driven about building a motivated team and mentoring and encouraging the team to continuously develop and grow.
