Flow Traders is seeking a Trading Operations Engineer to join the Digital Assets team in Amsterdam. As a key team member, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance and stability of our proprietary trading systems and associated hardware within our technology landscape. You will take ownership of technical issues related to our in-house trading applications, directly impacting the company's performance. In this role, you will collaborate closely with various departments to deepen your understanding of our proprietary trading applications, their functionality, and ongoing development.

Responsibilities:

  • Gain expertise in our latency-sensitive trading application stacks and contribute to swift troubleshooting in a dynamic environment
  • Develop, test, and integrate monitoring solutions using APIs from our proprietary trading applications to provide performance insights of our trading environment
  • Collaborate with system administrators to optimize Linux-based trading environments using tools from the latest Linux distributions
  • Contribute to automating infrastructure and application management efforts
  • Build, utilize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Conduct user acceptance testing across internal application stacks and learn how traders and supporting teams interact with our software
  • Provide technical input to enhance the operational efficiency of our applications through the development process
  • Enhance scripting skills, particularly Python, by collaborating with trading desks to automate complex workflows

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related quantitative fields
  • 0-4 years of commercial experience
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or C++
  • Basic networking knowledge and interest are beneficial
  • Experience with cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies is advantageous
  • Familiarity with technologies like Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, HDFS is a plus
  • Strong teamwork ethic and eagerness to learn new skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
