Description
We have an open position for a VFX Artist to join us on an exciting Metaverse project, Seedworld, built on Unreal 5.3.
As a VFX artist, you will utilize your expertise in Unreal (Niagara & Blueprint) and standard artist tools (Photoshop, Substance, 3D modeling package, etc.) to design and enhance particle systems, shaders, and VFX that align with Seedworld's unique art style.
Responsibilities:
- Develop visual effects art assets that balance performance, efficiency, and artistry to ensure optimal visual quality and game performance.
- Research and conceptualize high-quality visual effects based on references for implementation across various game elements.
- Collaborate with the art director, game designers, and developers to ensure VFX meets game requirements and artistic standards.
- Share knowledge and best practices with team members.
- Actively engage in technical and artistic discussions and assist in problem-solving.
- Prepare documentation summarizing work for both internal and external communication.
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of relevant experience with at least one AAA game released on PC or console.
- Previous work creating 2D and 3D stylized visual effects.
- Proficiency in working with Unreal game engine and Niagara.
- Proficiency in software such as Maya, Blender, Houdini, Photoshop, Substance, and Embergen.
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of FX shaders both visually and technically.
- Artistic talent to complement technical skills and collaborate effectively with the Art Director.
- Comprehensive knowledge of 3D requirements pre-shader (UV, Texture) and the entire game production pipelines.
- Previous experience in shader/material development.
- Ability to work quickly, demonstrate organization, collaborate effectively, and handle feedback well.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with fluency in English, and understanding of production values, deadlines, and priorities.
Bonus Skills:
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, HLSL, and Blueprint is a plus.
