Description

We are looking for an experienced VFX Artist to join our team and contribute to the development of Seedworld, one of the largest Metaverse projects on Unreal 5.3.

As a VFX artist, you will leverage your expertise in Unreal (Niagara & Blueprint) and standard artist software (Photoshop, Substance, 3D modeling tools, etc) to design and enhance particle systems, shaders, and other VFX elements that align with the distinctive style of Seedworld.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop visual effects art assets that balance efficiency, performance, and artistic vision to deliver optimal visual quality for gameplay;
  • Research and conceive high-quality visual effects based on references for implementation in various game aspects;
  • Collaborate closely with the art director, game designers, and developers to ensure VFX aligns with game requirements and artistic standards;
  • Share insights and best practices with team members;
  • Actively engage in technical and artistic discussions and problem-solving activities;
  • Prepare summaries of work and documentation for internal and external communication purposes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in similar roles, with participation in the development of at least one AAA game for PC or console;
  • Previous experience in creating stylized 2D and 3D visual effects;
  • Proficiency in working with Unreal game engine and Niagara;
  • Familiarity with tools such as Maya, Blender, Houdini, Photoshop, Substance, Embergen, etc.

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Strong understanding of FX shaders from both visual and technical perspectives;
  • Keen artistic eye to complement technical skills and collaborate effectively with the Art Director;
  • In-depth knowledge of 3D prerequisites before shaders (UV, Texture) and game pipelines;
  • Experience in shader and material development;
  • Ability to work efficiently, stay organized, collaborate effectively, and handle feedback constructively;
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, fluency in English, and understanding of production values, deadlines, and priorities.

Bonus Skills:

  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, HLSL, and Blueprint would be a valuable asset.
