Web Experience Designer & Payload Developer (3 month contract)

As a Web Experience Designer & Payload Developer, you will play a crucial role in shaping and constructing the upcoming generation of our content-driven web experiences. You will be tasked with designing adaptable templates, implementing them within Payload CMS, and producing modular components and widgets that enable our teams to efficiently scale content production. This role merges design proficiency with practical front-end development and CMS integration to ensure our digital assets are visually appealing and technically sound.

Responsibilities

• Design and provide reusable page templates (e.g., product landing pages) that are brand-consistent and scalable.
• Create designs in Figma for evaluation.
• Develop and configure these templates in Payload CMS to enable editors to easily manage and repurpose them.
• Create and implement reusable widgets/components (e.g., author profile cards, live pricing blocks, rich content sections).
• Collaborate with Organic Growth, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure alignment of templates and widgets with performance, UX, and SEO/AIO requirements.
• Ensure consistency in applying responsive design and accessibility standards across all components.
• Integrate external data sources (e.g., APIs for pricing, content feeds) into CMS-driven components.
• Offer technical documentation and training to internal teams on the optimal usage and scalability of the systems you create.
• Stay updated on design and front-end development best practices and advancements in CMS frameworks to introduce innovation to our web experience.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in web design and front-end development, preferably in global or content-heavy settings.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Payload CMS (or equivalent headless CMS platforms like Strapi, Sanity, Contentful), encompassing content modelling and custom component development.
• Strong design capabilities with a portfolio showcasing UI/UX and component-based systems.
• Skillfulness in modern front-end technologies (React/Next.js, TypeScript, CSS frameworks).
• Ability to design and code adaptable widgets and components that seamlessly integrate with CMS workflows.
• Familiarity with accessibility, responsive design, and performance enhancement.
• Experience in collaborating with APIs and incorporating dynamic data integrations.
• Proficient in English with effective communication and collaboration skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Independent, detail-oriented, and capable of delivering effectively in a fast-paced environment.
