Accounting Associate
The Finance & Accounting (F&A) team is comprised of multiple functions including Financial Control & Business Performance Management, Procurement, Digital Transformation, Tax, Treasury, and Operations. Together, the team collaborates to enhance global finance initiatives and thrives on being detail-oriented while handling diverse and engaging project scopes.
Responsibilities
Accounting:
Prepare journal entries for daily cash transactions and customer activity
Prepare journal entries for operating cash transactions, accruals, etc.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts such as accruals, prepaids, property, and intercompany accounts
Provide daily reports to Management
Prepare daily and monthly reports for Regulators
Assist with tax return preparation, financial statement audit, and supporting schedules
Complete ad hoc projects focusing on process automation for enhanced efficiency
Assist the Finance team with tasks related to various entities
Support ad hoc administrative tasks as required
Treasury:
Process deposits and withdrawals from customer accounts
Review cash reconciliations and process journal entries related to cash movements and payments
Perform daily reconciliations, including debit card transactions, chargebacks, and connection errors
Reconcile clearing brokers and exchanges on a daily basis
Accounts Payable:
Manage all Accounts Payable functions including purchase order creation, invoice review/submission, and payment processing
Ensure timely processing of vendor payments to maintain current accounts
Communicate with vendors on invoices and payment matters as necessary
Maintain an updated supplier database with accurate details
Establish a complete repository of vendor W9 forms
Contribute to the development of Finance processes
Perform internal control procedures to ensure accuracy of records
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 0-2 years of experience in finance, accounting, and/or treasury; audit experience is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, self-motivation, quick learning ability, and problem-solving skills
- Capacity to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment with large amounts of data
- Strong attention to detail and meticulous adherence to procedures
- Proficiency in Excel (v-lookup function and pivot tables) and Word
- Experience in crypto, FCMs, or broker-dealers is advantageous
