Fund Analyst
About the role
We are seeking a Funds Analyst (L1) to join our Funds team. This position focuses on the convergence of investment, distribution, and operations within the funds business. Key responsibilities include assessing private and public fund managers, evaluating their strategies, and facilitating the accessibility of funds to investors on our platform. The L1 Analyst will work closely with senior team members throughout the fund lifecycle, from screening managers to producing essential marketing materials.
Who you'll work with
Collaboration is essential in this role, as you will engage with senior funds colleagues, GPs, placement agents, legal and compliance teams, and distribution, marketing, and CAM teams.
Responsibilities
Execution
- Work with senior team members to assist in various tasks related to fund performance queries, onboarding processes, documentation reviews, and investment cycles.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of onboarding documentation and monitor pending items across different funds.
Due diligence
- Conduct basic analysis on various fund types and structures.
- Form preliminary assessments on fund suitability for the platform, providing essential diligence inputs for investment decisions.
Distribution & sell-through
- Aid in generating sales materials such as factsheets, brochures, and promotional pages while ensuring data accuracy.
- Address basic inquiries from marketing and CAM teams regarding fund performance and transactions.
Process improvement
- Identify operational inefficiencies and address potential issues proactively to prevent escalations.
- Focus on enhancing document handling processes, data accuracy, and communication protocols.
Learning & development
- Continuously enhance knowledge of fund industry across private and public assets.
- Develop a strong grasp of internal fund onboarding processes and stay engaged in ongoing learning initiatives.
Qualifications
Must-have
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in finance, asset management, or related fields.
- Familiarity with fund structures and asset classes.
- Strong attention to detail and proficient written communication skills.
- Capability to manage multiple stakeholders and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to adapt to new tools swiftly.
Nice-to-have
- Prior exposure to private markets fund onboarding processes.
- Progress towards CFA Level I, CAIA, or similar qualifications.
- Experience in creating or reviewing marketing collateral.
- Knowledge of fund administration, CRM, or distribution platforms.
Success criteria within 12 months
- Timely completion of onboarding tasks with accurate documentation.
- Ability to independently draft client-ready materials with minimal oversight.
- Proficiency in handling routine queries from various teams without escalation.
- Consistent identification and resolution of inefficiencies and risks.
- Demonstrated growth in fund-strategy expertise through diligence preparation.

L1 serves as the entry level for the Funds Business career track, presenting avenues for advancement to higher levels based on performance.
