AML Specialist

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in overseeing Binance’s Compliance Program pertaining to Brazil, serving as the point person for compliance matters with local fiat partners and internal teams concerning Brazilian regulatory compliance.
 - Create, update, and uphold local compliance policies, procedures, BRDs, and SOPs in accordance with Brazilian regulations and Binance's global compliance standards.
 - Stay informed about ongoing regulatory changes in Brazil, assess their impact on compliance, and recommend strategic actions as needed.
 - Prepare and submit regulatory reports to COAF, including Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
 - Conduct compliance investigations within set service level agreements (SLAs), offer guidance to internal teams, and escalate complex matters when necessary.
 - Assist in remediating issues identified during audits, regulatory reviews, or internal assessments, ensuring prompt resolution in compliance with local standards.
 - Participate in evaluating products for compliance with Brazilian regulations and AML requirements, collaborating with relevant departments.
 - Work closely with Legal, Customer Experience, Bank Relations, and Product Compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence, data accuracy, and reporting precision.
 - Contribute to developing and implementing Financial Crimes Compliance training initiatives for staff operating in the Brazilian market.
 
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial compliance, AML, regulatory affairs, or financial crime prevention in the financial services or crypto sectors, focusing on Brazil.
 - Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, or related field, with advanced certifications being a plus.
 - Thorough knowledge of Brazilian regulatory frameworks, including Anti-Money Laundering Law, Central Bank AML resolutions, and other relevant guidelines from local authorities.
 - Strong understanding of AML frameworks and compliance requirements relevant to virtual assets and fiat currency transactions as per Brazilian legislation.
 - Proficiency in interpreting and applying Brazilian regulatory requirements in the dynamic crypto industry.
 - Fluency in English (written and spoken) for effective internal communication.
 - Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions to achieve regulatory compliance objectives.
 - Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities, capable of multitasking and working efficiently under pressure.
