Area Site Manager - Middle Tennessee
Job Overview:
The Area Site Manager role at CleanSpark involves overseeing operations in the Middle Tennessee area and managing a team of technicians. This position plays a key role in providing round-the-clock support to mining centers, working closely with the engineering and facilities teams.
This position will primarily focus on supporting locations in Onedia, Winfield, West Crossville, Campbell Junction, and Decatur.
Key Responsibilities:
Regional Oversight:
- Supervise day-to-day operations at multiple sites in the designated region.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, policies, and performance targets.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor operations and address any issues.
Operational Excellence:
Manage site performance in production, safety, quality, and maintenance.
Identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost reductions.
Ensure timely resolution of operational issues and implement best practices.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and assist Site Managers and direct reports.
- Establish performance goals for site teams and conduct regular evaluations.
- Cultivate a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and accountability.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Handle site budgets and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with finance and corporate teams to develop budgets and monitor expenditures.
- Implement cost-saving measures while upholding safety and performance standards.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations at all sites.
- Conduct regular safety audits and address any identified issues.
- Promote a culture of safety and accountability across all locations.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
- Act as the interface between site teams and corporate departments such as HR, IT, and Maintenance.
- Work with department heads to ensure appropriate site support and resources.
Reporting and Metrics:
- Monitor, analyze, and report key performance metrics like production output, safety records, and financials.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership with suggestions for enhancements.
Problem Solving and Decision Making:
- Make decisions on operational issues within the region.
- Address problems as they arise and implement lasting solutions.
- Escalate critical matters to corporate leadership when needed.
Employee Relations & Performance Management:
- Manage employee relations, including disciplinary actions and terminations, aligning with company policies.
- Foster a culture of accountability and ensure performance expectations are clearly communicated and met.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in multi-site management within operations, particularly in facilities, industrial, or manufacturing settings.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field (MBA or equivalent is a plus).
- Proven track record of leading and managing teams across various locations, showcasing strong leadership and coaching skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and operational mindset, with a history of driving process improvements and operational success.
- Sound financial acumen, including budget management and understanding of P&L statements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Thorough knowledge of safety regulations, compliance, and best practices in a multi-site environment.
- Willingness to travel frequently within the region to oversee multiple sites (up to 50% travel might be required).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in managing within the facility infrastructure or data center industry.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments focusing on scaling operations.
- Background in project management and proficiency with operational tools and software.
