Backend Engineer (Python/Node.js)

We are a collaborative team dedicated to the design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of software for diverse project ventures closely related to our core businesses. These projects are quickly bootstrapped with a lean team approach. As a vital team member, you will play an active role in designing various components to support scalable applications, spanning from frontend UI to backend infrastructure.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Engineer to join our Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be pivotal in creating, developing, and deploying innovative automation solutions primarily focused on optimizing Client onboarding, operational efficiency, and financial processes. This role demands a robust blend of software engineering proficiency, thorough knowledge of Generative AI, and hands-on experience in implementing complex automation workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Software Development:

• Develop clean, efficient, and well-documented code using Python for machine learning models, automation scripts, and system integrations.

• Collaborate with multifunctional teams (Product, Data Science, Operations) to define requirements and deliver effective solutions.

• Update the development process to rectify bugs or attend to issues promptly.

• High-Scale Automation: Devise and implement resilient backend systems that support large-scale automation initiatives, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance for critical business processes.

• API Development: Construct and maintain secure, high-performance APIs to manage payment processing and automated reconciliation systems.

• Workflow Engineering: Create the backend logic and integration layers for workflow verification and automated support triggers.

• Database Optimization: Manage intricate data structures and conduct thorough database optimization to address high-frequency transaction logging and querying efficiently.

• System Integration: Design seamless connections between internal microservices and external third-party platforms.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional backend development proficiency.

• Python & Node.js Mastery: Mandatory expert-level proficiency in both Python & Node.js.

• API Frameworks: Extensive experience with FastAPI, Django, or Flask for the development of production-ready services.

• Database Expertise: Strong grasp of relational database concepts, adept at expert SQL querying, and skilled in performance tuning.

• Automation Background: Significant past involvement in contributing to or leading large-scale automation projects, such as automated financial reporting or enterprise-wide workflow management.

• Domain Knowledge: Practical experience in backend requirements for payment reconciliation and KYC compliance.

• Proficient in English speaking and experienced in collaborating with global teams.

Nice to have:

• Experience in Kubernetes/Docker, Applied AI Development.

• Strong desire for continuous improvement, attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility.
