The Role
Business Development serves as the cornerstone of the sales organization at Messari, facilitating the emergence of new business opportunities. In the Business Development Representative (BDR) role, individuals will work closely with Account Executives to generate revenue through both inbound and outbound leads. Responsibilities include lead qualification, strategic pipeline development, deep account analysis, and collaboration with Account Executives on pipeline generation efforts. The role of BDRs is integral to creating significant new business pipelines amounting to millions of dollars annually.
This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team and engage directly with key business leaders from global organizations. Candidates are expected to demonstrate high levels of organization, process orientation, and sales proficiency. BDRs will also gain a comprehensive understanding of the crypto markets, major market players, and the Messari Enterprise Platform.
What You'll Do
- Engage in prospecting activities targeting strategic business accounts through diverse channels like cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and social strategies
- Drive sales growth and pipeline development by facilitating qualified meetings for Account Executives
- Assess inbound leads to identify next steps in pipeline progression
- Maintain a structured outbound qualification process within Salesforce
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Messari's range of industry solutions
- Develop innovative strategies to engage decision-makers at prospect accounts, scheduling sales appointments and influencing company revenue
Who You Are
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Communication, or a related field
- Have 1-2 years of experience in a quota-carrying role
- Proficient in outreach methods such as cold calling and emailing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective time management and organizational abilities
- Experience working with CRM, data analytics, and marketing automation tools is preferred
- Background in SaaS software, cryptocurrency, or FinTech is highly desirable
Nice-to-Haves
- Previous experience in sales or business development, particularly in a startup environment
- Prior involvement in the crypto ecosystem through networks, social groups, or structured interactions
- Interaction with crypto protocols, exchanges, tradefi, and hedge funds.
Compensation - Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 and equity.
