Your Role:
As a critical member of the Corporate Development and Ventures Team, you will collaborate with leadership, product, engineering, and revenue teams to cultivate strategic partnerships and investments for optimizing our enterprise value. You will be instrumental in managing relationships with potential and existing portfolio companies and investors while helping build a startup ecosystem. Your responsibilities require cross-functional collaboration internally and externally to drive a significant impact. Our team’s objectives encompass:
- Identifying key opportunities amidst the noise to deliver valuable insights, deals, and alignment for our priorities by drawing on input from internal teams and external communities.
- Providing counsel based on sound business judgment to enable informed decision-making by leadership.
- Executing deals, due diligence, and integration at a superior level, aligning the organization with our goals effectively.
- Tracking the progress and success of deals over time to report on advancements and utilize continuous improvement practices for learning.
Your Tasks:
- Cultivating an in-depth understanding of the financial services/technology and crypto industries’ landscape, dynamics, and trends while staying informed on new developments and technologies.
- Establishing a robust network of internal and external partners, advisors, and opportunities to gain valuable insights and engagement.
- Identifying, prioritizing, evaluating, and managing potential partnership and investment opportunities, including handling inbound deal flow.
- Leading due diligence efforts and deal paperwork, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and advisors.
- Collaborating across diverse departments to drive organizational decisions.
- Leading the complete partnership and investment lifecycle, from developing ideas to deal closure, in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Exploring partnerships with Circle Ventures' new investments and current portfolio companies, along with market-leading crypto entities and funds.
Your Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, ideally encompassing corporate development, M&A, venture investing, or management consulting gained in corporate, investment bank, or venture capital environments.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, along with high motivation, executive presence, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to foster relationships effectively.
- Proven ability to lead and prioritize projects and opportunities in a fast-paced corporate setting and industry.
- Solid experience in analyzing industries, trends, and future prospects and effectively articulating vital factors.
- Knowledge across the deal pipeline stages, from target identification to financial analysis, due diligence, negotiation, deal closure, integration, and separation activities.
- Familiarity with tools such as Slack, Apple MacOS, and GSuite, and an inclination towards continuous learning and professional growth.
- Bachelor’s degree is required, ideally in Economics, Finance, Business, Technology, or a related field; a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or an advanced degree is preferred.
