Key Responsibilities:
As part of the Data Engineering - Business ETL team, you will be responsible for managing the data warehouse and pipelines crucial for financial and regulatory reporting. Your role is central in empowering Circle's Finance, Accounting, and Analytics teams to drive operational efficiency and obtain valuable insights that support business growth. Your tasks include redesigning how data flows through the company, emphasizing data accuracy and quality to uphold Circle's standards of transparency and accountability.
Key Tasks:
- Collaborate with various teams to establish and manage scalable data cycles for new and existing products.
- Develop and maintain data ETL/ELT pipelines for sourcing and aggregating data for analysis and reporting purposes.
- Integrate data into internal and customer-facing applications for analytical, financial, and regulatory functions.
- Create connections with external systems for data sourcing and distribution.
- Enhance the reliability and performance of the data warehouse through continuous optimization.
- Innovate data storage and processing methods to align with evolving business needs and external applications.
- Work on a scalable data platform for ingesting, storing, and aggregating datasets, fostering collaboration and continuous enhancement.
- Become a subject matter expert in data modeling, pipelines, quality assurance, and financial data warehousing.
Requirements for Candidates:
For Data Engineer (II):
- 2+ years of professional experience in data engineering.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Scala, Python).
- Strong command of SQL in big data warehouse systems like Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, etc.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure).
- Prior exposure to financial data handling is preferred, especially in payment systems or blockchains.
- Knowledge of open-source or related big data technologies.
- Quick learner with a track record of delivering on mid-complexity projects.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and adept at working in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within distributed teams.
