Responsibilities:
As a vital part of the Data Engineering - Business ETL team, you will be responsible for managing the data warehouse and data pipelines crucial for financial and regulatory reporting. Your role supports various Circle business functions, including Finance, Accounting, and Analytics, enhancing operational efficiency and providing actionable insights to drive business expansion. This position will redefine how data flows throughout the organization, emphasizing the utmost integrity for data accuracy and quality, directly impacting Circle’s credibility, trust, and accountability requirements.
Day-to-Day Tasks:
- Collaborate across teams to design and oversee scalable data lifecycles for new and existing products.
- Develop and maintain data ETL/ELT pipelines for sourcing and aggregating data for analysis and reporting purposes.
- Present data for internal and customer-facing applications to support analytical, financial, and regulatory needs.
- Establish integrations with third-party systems for obtaining and sharing datasets.
- Enhance the operations, monitoring, and performance of the data warehouse continuously.
- Rethink current data storage and processing methods within the organization and external applications.
- Assist in designing, implementing, and enhancing a scalable data platform for ingesting, storing, and integrating diverse datasets.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data modeling, data pipelines, data quality, and financial data warehousing.
Required Qualifications:
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in data engineering.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages like Java, Scala, or Python.
- Strong command of SQL in big data warehouse systems such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks.
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration management engines like Airflow, Dagster, or DBT.
- Experience working with Cloud Services like AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
- Exposure to financial data, with a preference for experience in related domains such as payment systems, credit cards, or blockchains.
- Internal knowledge of open-source or related big data technologies.
- Capability to adapt quickly and deliver on medium-complexity projects.
- Self-driven individual who takes initiative, achieves results, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across remote teams and articulate concepts clearly.
