About the Position
This position blends quantitative finance, machine learning, and natural language understanding. You will be responsible for employing natural language understanding techniques, such as sentiment and intent analysis, to extract trading signals from news and social media channels. You will develop and refine predictive models, conduct thorough backtesting, and optimize strategies to drive data-informed investment decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and create quantitative trading strategies using NLU methods on financial news, social media, and other textual data sources
- Develop machine learning models to identify predictive trading indicators and analyze large and complex datasets
- Utilize mathematical techniques like probability, statistics, and time-series analysis to enhance trading models
- Rigorously backtest strategies using historical data and optimize models iteratively to improve performance and manage risk
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Engineering, or related field
- Proficiency in NLU techniques, including sentiment analysis, intent recognition, and named-entity recognition
- Strong skills in Python or R programming languages and practical experience with NLP libraries like SpaCy, NLTK, and Transformers
- Solid mathematical foundation encompassing probability, statistics, linear algebra, time-series analysis, and familiarity with ML frameworks such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
