The Opportunity
We are seeking a Director of Social Media & Community Engagement to drive CoinDesk's social media strategies. In this role, you will develop, execute, and deliver social campaigns that increase brand awareness, improve marketing efforts, and engage our audience. Collaboration with multiple teams across CoinDesk Media & Events will be critical in leveraging existing and curated industry content for social platforms frequented by our target audience. What You’ll Do:
- Develop, execute, and report on social media campaigns to grow and connect with our global audience across all social media platforms.
- Create and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with business goals and marketing objectives. Define clear objectives and strategies for each campaign, incorporating target audience insights and trends.
- Drive traffic to our digital media platform and increase attendance at CoinDesk events through targeted social campaigns.
- Manage content creation, publication, and sharing, ensuring brand consistency across all social media channels. Utilize curated content from industry sources and user-generated content.
- Design and oversee social media advertising campaigns, optimizing them based on key metrics.
- Analyze social media data and engagement metrics to evaluate campaign success.
- Monitor competitor social media activities and assess their impact.

What You Have
- 7+ years of experience in social media and community management, ideally in fast-paced industries with exposure to digital media platforms. Knowledge of Crypto, Web3, Blockchain, or FinTech is highly desired.
- Proven track record in audience growth, content strategy, and platform alignment to build a strong brand through data-driven strategies.
- Strong expertise in social media management and digital journalism, demonstrating content strategy development across various social media platforms.
- Comprehensive knowledge of major global social media platforms and understanding of regional target audience platform usage.
- Proficiency in delivering advertiser campaigns on social networks.
- Proficient in social media publishing and analytics.
- Strong collaboration and project management skills.

What you will own
Go-to-market strategy. Build the full pre-launch and launch plan. Own the budget, justify every line of spend, and report results. Structure and accountability - not guesswork and vibes.
Influencer and KOL partnerships. Identify the right people in the prediction markets and crypto trading community. Build real long-term relationships - not one-off paid posts. We want people who actually trade on platforms like ours and talk about it authentically.
Agency management. Set briefs, control results, don't let agencies run in "report-for-show" mode. Know what you are paying for and defend every decision to the founder in two sentences.
Hiring and building the marketing team. Close the SMM role yourself - write the JD, run interviews, onboard, and build a working system. You define how the team operates.
Community and content. Own the brand voice across Twitter/X, Telegram, and Discord. Build a genuine community around prediction markets - not just manage accounts. In the early days you post yourself, daily. You engage. You make 10arx impossible to ignore in the prediction markets space.
Pre-launch activation. Build the waitlist, create pre-launch momentum, and get the first 1K traders into the product before public release. The core audience needs to exist from day one.
