About the Role
Toku is seeking an experienced payroll leader to enhance our global financial infrastructure. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this role involves overseeing and optimizing both fiat and crypto payroll operations and collaborating closely with the company founders in a client-facing capacity.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with at least 7 years of payroll management experience, preferably including exposure to crypto and blockchain technologies. Growth opportunities are abundant as the company expands.
Responsibilities
- Supervise payroll operations in EMEA and APAC regions across 15+ countries.
- Collect and organize payroll data from internal stakeholders to meet payroll schedule requirements.
- Review, reconcile, and approve payroll data to guarantee accurate and compliant payments.
- Maintain up-to-date records, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
- Evaluate and enhance payroll provider performance and new country payroll implementations.
- Address and resolve payroll-related issues efficiently.
- Manage statutory filing obligations and stay informed on payroll compliance in relevant jurisdictions.
- Act as the primary contact for internal employees, external parties, and vendors regarding payroll inquiries.
- Stay informed of global payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements, especially in relation to cryptocurrency transactions.
- Collaborate with Customer Success and Implementation teams for client onboarding and ongoing support.
Requirements
- MBA, BS, or equivalent qualifications.
- 7+ years of financial management experience, with a focus on payroll operations and leadership.
- Proficient in global payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
- Experience in early or late-stage global startups.
- Comprehensive understanding of payroll regulations, accounting principles, and relevant regulations.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational capabilities.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proven track record in identifying growth opportunities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote and agile environment.
- Strong work ethic and experience in founding projects or companies.
