Your Role:
Circle seeks a talented individual to assume the role of Sanctions Compliance Director responsible for overseeing the establishment and management of the Sanctions Compliance Program. As a pivotal member of the Compliance team's oversight framework, this position entails the development and enforcement of standards governing Circle's global sanctions initiatives. Your key duties will involve collaborating with internal stakeholders to guarantee adherence to prevailing regulations across all operational jurisdictions. You will be charged with formulating internal strategies, defining policies, procedures, and frameworks for monitoring sanctions-related risks, and instituting standards to mitigate these risks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be tasked with:
- Managing the end-to-end Sanctions strategy and program by developing policies, standards, and procedural resources.
- Providing guidance on designing sanctions screening platforms in compliance with regulations.
- Participating in the testing and configuration of Sanction screening systems.
- Analyzing data, defining business requirements, and addressing compliance risks.
- Advising stakeholders on compliance matters and potential enhancements.
- Researching and recommending strategies to mitigate sanctions and reputational risks.
- Facilitating control assessments and overseeing company-wide Risk Assessments.
- Keeping abreast of Sanctions regulatory changes and industry trends.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to operationalize the Sanctions Compliance program.
- Liaising with Legal, Product teams to facilitate license application processes.
- Conducting presentations for regulators and auditors during compliance reviews.

Qualifications:
- 12+ years of compliance experience, specialized in managing Sanctions programs.
- 5+ years of team leadership experience.
- Compliance expertise in banking, consulting, or cryptocurrency; familiarity with RegTech or Fintech is beneficial.
- Extensive knowledge of OFAC, UN, and Global Sanctions regulations.
- Hands-on experience in configuring and operating screening systems.
- Proficiency collaborating with diverse teams and adapting to industry changes.
- Familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS, and GSuite.

- This role offers day-one PERM sponsorship for eligible candidates.
- Compensation is influenced by various factors, including experience, skills, and organizational requirements.
- Base Pay Range: $190,000 - $242,500. Additional equity, bonuses, and benefits offered.
