Ubiminds is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their team. This role requires a blend of strong leadership skills and hands-on technical expertise. The ideal candidate will excel in team building, software delivery, and taking ownership of end-to-end project outcomes.
Responsibilities include mentoring and developing engineers, ensuring high levels of productivity and reliability within the engineering teams, setting and maintaining engineering standards, leading team roadmaps and priorities in collaboration with other departments, designing and maintaining APIs, backend services, systems, and supporting user-facing experiences, overseeing partner integrations from start to finish, managing engineering tasks while also contributing technically when necessary, planning and executing work on monthly and quarterly timelines, liaising with external partners for efficient solutions, leading recruitment efforts, and facilitating team growth in multiple streams.
Key requirements include proven experience in leading engineering teams that consistently deliver production software, competence in balancing people management with technical contributions, expertise in designing and building scalable APIs, hands-on experience in developing AI or ML features/projects, adeptness in planning and executing projects over different time horizons, exceptional organization and collaboration skills, proficiency in English communication, and deep knowledge of Ruby or Rust programming languages.
Desirable qualifications include experience in regulated or data-heavy environments, familiarity with event-driven architectures or messaging systems, prior experience mentoring other tech leads or engineering managers, exposure to distributed or offshore team environments, and a background in platform or integration-driven product development.
The chosen candidate will demonstrate leadership over two engineering teams of varying seniority levels, emphasizing ownership, collaboration, autonomy, and continuous improvement within the teams.
