Engineering Manager - BitGo Prime

BitGo seeks an Engineering Manager to join the Prime organization and contribute to the development of resilient and robust services, overseeing critical projects with minimal supervision. This position is based at our office in Palo Alto, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and nurture a team of skilled engineers, providing both technical guidance and hands-on leadership.
• Foster a culture of open communication, technical excellence, and ownership within the team.
• Ensure the team delivers high-quality work effectively.
• Oversee all technologies and services supporting BitGo Prime, including trading, lending, and settlement processes.
• Serve as a constructive intermediary between engineering teams and various stakeholders.
• Own and drive key performance indicators related to internal operations efficiency and client service quality.
• Encourage comprehensive documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with management and product teams to plan, estimate, and prioritize roadmap objectives.
• Align team objectives with company goals and client expectations.

Skills & Experience Requirements:

Required:

• Experience as a manager or in a senior engineering position.
• Proficiency in digital wallets, clearing and settlement, lending, trading, or accounting systems.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Strong automation skills and a penchant for optimizing workflows.
• Proficient debugging abilities and understanding of complex system interconnections.
• Track record of recruiting top engineering talent.
• Familiarity with cross-functional collaboration.
• Proactive, adaptable, and decisive.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Interest and understanding of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.

Preferred:

• Working experience with NodeJS, TypeScript, Go, Postgres, React, and Kafka.
• Knowledge of microservices and service-oriented architectures.
• Background in large-scale, real-time, or distributed applications.
• Familiarity with Containers and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of and exposure to the financial industry.

Pay Transparency Note: The compensation for this role averages between $185,000 - $235,000 USD base salary, equity, an annual performance bonus, and the listed benefits, varying by location and level.
