About The Role

As the Engineering Manager overseeing the Player Experience team, your primary focus will revolve around enhancing [play.immutable.com], which acts as the gateway to Immutable. Your team's core objective is to redefine how players engage and connect with Web3 games. Leading a diverse team that includes technical, design, and data professionals, you will drive innovation, optimize player acquisition mechanisms, and deliver a superior gameplay platform that cultivates player enthusiasm and loyalty.

We are seeking an energetic and visionary technical leader who excels in dynamic environments. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about fostering empowered teams and shaping the future of gaming and digital asset ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and nurture the Player Experience engineering team, steering them towards introducing impactful features.
• Spearhead the technical advancement of the discovery Feed and onboarding systems to escalate player acquisition and engagement.
• Establish best practices for project delivery, ensuring seamless execution of the product roadmap.
• Collaborate with counterparts in Product, Design, and Data to align strategies and yield exceptional user outcomes.
• Work closely with other teams such as Rewards, Quest, and Trading to streamline the overall player journey.
• Cultivate a culture of excellence, autonomy, and accountability to facilitate quick iterations and knowledge acquisition.
• Assist in shaping the product strategy and engineering culture, collaborating closely with leadership counterparts and fellow Engineering Managers.
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to engineers through feedback, mentorship, and career development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years managing high-performing software engineering teams, with a focus on performance reviews, coaching, and career development.
• Strong background in full-stack engineering, with proficiency in technologies like React, TypeScript, or Go.
• Prior experience in startup or scaleup environments with a penchant for crafting top-notch consumer products.
• Firm commitment to team success and individual engineer growth.
• Excellent communication skills for navigating complex situations with clarity.
• Customer-oriented mindset with a dedication to solving genuine user challenges.

Bonus Qualifications

• Prior experience leading teams focusing on consumer or product growth.
• Knowledge of building or contributing to AI-powered features.
• Familiarity with Web3 concepts, technologies, and applications.
• Passion for gaming or prior involvement in the gaming industry.
