Engineering Manager - Custody

By facilitating approximately 20% of global Bitcoin transactions and supporting over 600 coins and tokens, BitGo acts as a security and operational backbone for more than 1500 institutional clients in 50 countries, including regulated entities and top cryptocurrency exchanges worldwide. BitGo has financial backing from reputed investors like Goldman Sachs and Digital Currency Group, among others.
Currently, BitGo seeks an Engineering Manager to strengthen its Custody organization, contributing to the development of resilient and robust services that allow customers to securely store and access their cryptocurrency while meeting international compliance standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of productive engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability
- Assume direct accountability for the quality and timely delivery of the team's work
- Collaborate with product management, designers, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize the team's roadmap
- Work closely with UI/UX designers to create user-friendly interfaces for optimal user experience
- Develop platforms that empower internal and external developers to build secure crypto applications
- Track and be answerable for key performance indicators relating to development processes, product quality, and customer value
- Facilitate effective communication and alignment between engineering teams and product operations, support, compliance, and business stakeholders
- Align the team towards broader company objectives and client expectations
Required Skills & Experience:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience as a software engineer, with over 2 years in a managerial capacity
- Strong inclination towards automation and tool development for enhancing workflow efficiency
- Exceptional debugging skills and the ability to comprehend complex system interconnections
- Demonstrated capability in sourcing and recruiting top engineering talents
- Experience working in cross-team and remote settings, collaborating with diverse functions to achieve departmental goals
- Adaptable, decisive self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field
- In-depth understanding and keen interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology
Preferred:
- Proficiency in NodeJS, TypeScript, MongoDB, React, and Kafka
- Understanding of microservices and service-oriented architectures
- Experience with large-scale, real-time, and distributed applications
- Familiarity with Containers and Kubernetes
- Background in and familiarity with the financial services sector
