As a Data Platform Engineering Manager at Anchorage Digital, your primary mission is to design and uphold a secure and scalable data platform that safeguards data integrity and privacy at high levels. Your role involves enabling the organization to harness data assets effectively and safely, allowing for informed decision-making and fostering a culture of data-driven excellence and continuous enhancement while ensuring compliance with data security regulations.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Factors of Growth & Impact:

  • Lead projects to broaden access to data sets impacting business outcomes.

  • Develop secure data pipelines to efficiently extract, transform, and load operational data into data warehouses.

  • Establish infrastructure and tooling to provide essential, flexible data sets to support business operations.

  • Manage data infrastructure and access.

  • Lead a team of Engineers – Driving quality execution, timely delivery, impact, and growth.

  • Mentor and advise team members, offering coaching and feedback to enhance competencies.

Organizational Knowledge:

  • Accountable for overall execution quality, delivery timeliness, processes, impact, as well as personal and professional growth within a team.
  • Serve as the Product Manager for the team, guiding decisions on data platform architecture investments to align with product plans and team capabilities.

Communication and Influence:

  • Collaborate with other engineering managers, product management, recruitment, and the larger engineering team to drive team growth, retention, and hiring strategies.

Job Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in handling diverse data sources like SQL, PubSub, API-based, Event-sourced state, among others.
  • Experience translating business requirements into data models for analytical support.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing, mentoring, and growing geographically distributed teams.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, data services from platforms like GCP, AWS, and Azure, and data tooling.
  • Proven track record of delivering impactful results for the business quickly and adapting to changing business needs.

Desired Skills (but not required):

  • Interest in resilient data schema design.
  • Experience implementing Data Governance policies.
