Engineering Manager - Wallet Core

The successful candidate will work full-time in our Palo Alto office to support collaborative team dynamics and innovative problem-solving.

We seek an Engineering Manager to join our Wallet Tech organization, focusing on constructing resilient, robust services and managing critical projects with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of talented engineers, offering cultural, technical, and hands-on leadership
• Foster a culture of open communication, craftsmanship, and ownership within the team
• Oversee the quality and timely delivery of the team's work
• Manage all technology and services driving BitGo's Web experiences for retail and institutional customers
• Act as a conduit between engineering teams and various stakeholders within the organization
• Be accountable for operational efficiency, client experience, and service uptime metrics
• Promote documentation and knowledge sharing
• Collaborate with management and product teams on roadmap planning and realization
• Align team objectives with company goals and client expectations

Required:

• Previous managerial experience in an engineering department
• 8+ years as a software engineer, with 2+ years in a managerial role
• Proficiency in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology
• Strong automation and workflow optimization skills
• Excellent debugging abilities and understanding of complex system interactions
• Demonstrated success in recruiting top engineering talent
• Experience collaborating across teams to achieve departmental objectives
• Proactive decision-making and adaptability
• Engineering degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

• Familiarity with NodeJS, TypeScript, Postgres, React, and Kafka
• Knowledge of microservices and service-oriented architectures
• Experience with large-scale, real-time, and distributed applications
• Background in the financial industry
• Proficient in Git/GitHub, code review tools, and CI/CD pipelines

Pay Transparency Notice:

Compensation for the role ranges from $180,000 - $240,000 USD base salary, based on leveling and location. Additionally, equity, annual bonuses, and the below benefits are included:
