This role requires full-time onsite presence at the New York City office to support collaborations and innovative problem-solving.

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our Wallet Tech organization, tasked with developing resilient, robust services and leading critical projects independently or with lax supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a team of talented engineers, offering technical, cultural, and hands-on leadership.
  • Expand the team and actively contribute to fostering a culture of open communication, craftsmanship, and ownership.
  • Assume direct responsibility for the team's deliverables' quality and timeliness.
  • Oversee all technologies and services driving BitGo's Web experiences for retail and institutional customers including onboarding, authentication, product workflows.
  • Serve as an intermediary between engineering teams and product operations, support, compliance, and business stakeholders.
  • Own, drive, and be accountable for Key Performance Indicators relating to operational efficiency, client experience, and service uptime.
  • Facilitate comprehensive documentation and knowledge dissemination.
  • Collaborate with management and product teams to strategize, estimate, and prioritize roadmap objectives.
  • Align the team with overall company objectives and client expectations.

Skills & Experience:

Required

  • Previous managerial experience in engineering or similar senior position.
  • 8+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Understanding and keen interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
  • Strong inclination towards automation and building efficient workflow tooling.
  • Proficient debugging skills and ability to comprehend complex system interactions.
  • Proven track record in sourcing and hiring top engineering talent.
  • Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional environments to achieve departmental objectives.
  • A proactive self-starter with adaptability and quick decision-making skills.
  • Engineering degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with NodeJS, TypeScript, Postgres, React, and Kafka.
  • Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
  • Background in developing large-scale, real-time, and distributed applications.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the financial industry.
  • Proficiency in Git/GitHub, branching methodologies, code review tools, and CI/CD pipelines.

Pay Transparency Notice:

Compensation for this role averages between $180,000 - $240,000 USD base salary, depending on leveling and location. The package also includes equity, an annual performance bonus, and outlined benefits.
