Engineering Manager - Wallet Core
Job Summary:
BitGo is a prominent provider of digital asset solutions seeking an Engineering Manager to enhance the performance and functionality of its Wallet Tech organization. This full-time onsite role will be based in the Toronto office to promote teamwork and problem-solving efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and cultivate a high-impact team of engineers, offering both technical guidance and hands-on leadership.
- Shape the team dynamics, fostering a culture of open communication, quality workmanship, and accountability.
- Directly oversee the quality and timely delivery of the team’s projects.
- Assume responsibility for the technology and services supporting BitGo's web experiences for both retail and institutional customers.
- Serve as a conduit between engineering teams and various internal stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
- Drive KPIs related to internal operations efficiency, client experience enhancement, and service uptime reliability.
- Encourage documentation and knowledge sharing efforts within the team.
- Collaborate with management and product teams to prioritize and execute roadmap objectives aligned with company goals and client expectations.
Required Skills & Experience:

Essential:
- Prior experience in a managerial or senior engineering role.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
- Interest and understanding of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
- Proficiency in automation and workflow optimization.
- Proficient debugging skills and experience with complex system interconnections.
- Track record of recruiting and leading top engineering talent.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally within a team-oriented environment.
- Proactive, adaptable, and decisive demeanor.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with NodeJS, TypeScript, Postgres, React, and Kafka.
- Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
- Background in large-scale, real-time, and distributed applications.
- Knowledge of the financial industry.
- Competence in Git/GitHub, code review tools, and CI/CD pipelines.

Compensation:
The average salary for this role falls between $240,000 - $280,000 CAD, along with equity and an annual performance bonus based on location and seniority level.
