The Finance Manager for Latin America is a pivotal role that will serve as a reliable finance partner for Binance's Regional and Country leaders. The role involves spearheading day-to-day financial decisions, overseeing all finance-related activities for multiple legal entities, ensuring meticulous financial reporting accuracy, compliance with internal controls, and audit preparedness. This individual contribution role presents growth opportunities in an exciting phase of the company's growth, requiring a hands-on approach with a proactive attitude towards delving into details while managing multiple complex priorities simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial processes for multiple legal entities in Latin America, encompassing month-end and year-end closing cycles, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable verification, invoicing, financial statement preparation, regulatory compliance, and liaison with internal functions and external partners.
- Ensure robust accounting standards by refining methodologies, validating journal entries, reconciling inter-entity balances, and enhancing accounting systems and procedures.
- Establish and reinforce internal controls by designing and executing business processes and policies, ensuring alignment with group standards, meticulous financial record-keeping, and facilitating audits.
- Collaborate with Regional and Country leaders to execute strategic plans, monitor performance metrics, and drive business growth through informed financial decisions.
- Develop annual revenue, marketing, and expense targets in alignment with leaders, optimize budget forecasting for effective spending optimization and timely investments.
- Identify avenues for operational efficiency improvement, revenue growth, and effective resource allocation by leading optimization initiatives to drive performance enhancements.
- Support business partners with ad-hoc financial analysis, investment case modeling, and scenario planning to aid leadership in critical decision-making.
- Foster team collaboration in a remote work setting, contribute to team culture and collective goals achievement by sharing best practices and supporting team members.
Requirements
- Hold a BA/BS in Finance or Accounting (Master's/MBA, CMA, or CPA preferred).
- Possess 8+ years of relevant experience in Finance Manager or similar roles ideally within reputable Tech/FinTech or multinational companies.
- Demonstrable expertise in general accounting procedures, financial statements, general ledger functions, and month-end/year-end procedures.
- Proficiency in English is a must, with Spanish and/or Portuguese fluency preferred for seamless cross-team collaboration.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise financial planning and accounting systems is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills, executive presence, proactive mentality, and ability to drive towards established goals.
- Comfortable working in unstructured environments, adept at managing ambiguity and multiple tasks concurrently with clarity and precision.
- Excellent communication skills, keen interest in crypto and blockchain technology.
