We are currently seeking a Financial Systems and Data Analytics Lead who will be responsible for collaborating across functions to develop and maintain systems that address the needs of financial data analytics and process automation. This role includes tasks such as internal tool development, implementing third-party tools, and finding data analytics and reporting solutions to automate accounting entries, reconciliations, month-end close processes, impairment and mark-to-market calculations for crypto activities, and key financial reports. Working closely with teams like accounting, FP&A, and HR, the individual in this role will help enhance the accounting organization's control environment, support the company's growth, and prepare for a successful IPO.
The Financial Systems and Data Analytics Lead role involves a wide range of data analytics projects and governance responsibilities, supporting accurate and timely reporting and the completion of the annual financial audit. This role also offers the opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders from various departments such as Engineering, Data Platform, and Data Governance, tackle ad-hoc data analytics projects, and provide insights and recommendations for business strategy and financial analysis.

Technical Skills Requirements:
- Proficiency in one or more data query and analytical tools such as SQL or Python to analyze data and make data-driven recommendations.
- Experience in building business intelligence and data visualizations using applications like Looker, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Expertise in designing databases, including understanding complex data schemas and extraction of data.
- Ability to perform detailed and data-intensive reconciliations with various datasets, preferably in the financial sector.
Complexity and Impact of Work:
- Lead the design and implementation of automated solutions for accounting reporting and reconciliations.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of data models and schemas for financial data from multiple sources, including blockchains, production databases, and spreadsheets.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and data warehouse solutions to meet business information requirements.
- Gain comprehensive knowledge of existing processes and recommend and implement potential Netsuite configuration changes and automation opportunities to leverage industry best practices and extend Netsuite functionality.
- Collaborate with other teams, ensuring integrated data flow across systems, coordinate automation and JE postings into the accounting system, and manage dependencies with Corporate Function System teams.
- Prepare and present regular reports on automation and financial data analytics activities to management.
- Conduct ad-hoc analytical projects, offer insights and recommendations to management regarding business strategy and financial performance.
Organizational Knowledge:
- Possess a deep understanding of Anchorage Digital's strategy and multiple business lines. Engage with various departments to grasp historical transactions and execute global go-forward strategies.
- Collaborate with Finance leadership and other cross-functional teams to establish plans for meeting business needs and foster a shared understanding of Anchorage's requirements.
Communication and Influence:
- Effectively communicate complex issues to diverse audiences.
- Articulate a clear strategy for the function and successfully communicate it companywide.
- Establish effective relationships with stakeholders, including other team managers, cross-functional partners, and external parties.
- Organize and execute cross-team goals and projects, utilizing relationships and resources cross-functionally to resolve challenges.
You may be the ideal candidate for this role if you:
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Possess strong communication skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable steps.
- Are proficient in SQL, Python, or other data query and analytical tools.
- Are skilled in using business intelligence and data visualization applications such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Have experience with database design, complex data schemas, and data extraction.
- Have direct experience performing detailed and data-intensive reconciliations with various datasets, preferably in the financial sector.
- Have knowledge of accounting principles, the month-end close process, and financial statements.
- Are familiar with accounting systems like Netsuite, SAP, or Oracle.
Although not required, these qualifications are a plus:
- Are knowledgeable about blockchain and crypto innovations.
- Have an emotional connection to the soundtrack of Hamilton, which is about the establishment of a new financial system. :)
Compensation at Anchorage Digital:
- Our compensation packages at Anchorage Digital are competitive and data-driven. All full-time employees receive a market-leading salary, significant equity, and a comprehensive perks and benefits package.
- Compensation Range: $155,000 - $215,000/year - Note that this salary range may include multiple regional locations and job grades. The precise compensation will be determined based on skills, abilities, and required experience during the interview process.
