Full Stack Developer

The Challenge

As contributors to Decentraland, we are actively seeking an experienced full-stack engineer with strong backend capabilities to join our remote-friendly team working on tools for building the metaverse. The role involves developing web applications and services, as well as the necessary infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have a proactive personality, strong ownership, and initiative.

The ideal candidate is expected to be comfortable and enthusiastic about:

• Developing new features, iterating rapidly, and finding innovative solutions to complex problems.

• Working with existing code and products to enhance efficiency, scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.

• Collaborating with other teams and stakeholders to realize short, medium, and long-term platform goals.

• Identifying and solving problems and bottlenecks with innovative solutions.

Tech Stack Overview

• TypeScript for both server and browser.
• Node.js for servers.
• React, Redux.
• Open API.
• AWS for infrastructure hosting.
• GitHub Actions & Workflows, GitLab for continuous deployment.
• Pulumi for infrastructure provisioning.
• Metabase, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch for observability.
• CloudFlare for CDN, hosting, security, and analytics.
• PostgreSQL, REDIS.

Requirements

• Experience in building REST and WebSocket APIs in scalable backend services.
• Proficiency in React and strong knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Knowledge of Service-to-Service communication and security protection measures.
• Capable of refactoring and scaling existing products.
• Experience in building, publishing, and maintaining software in production environments.
• Familiarity with performance, security, and databases.

Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with blockchain-based technologies.
• Experience with decentralized technology.
• Contribution to Open Source projects.
• Management of infrastructure provisioning.
• Experience in a distributed team spanning various time zones.
• Real-time communications experience.
