Working at Wintermute
We seek a Graduate Algorithmic Trader proficient in Python coding and keen on hft, liquidity provision, and crypto trading. At Wintermute, you will manage your trading area independently from the outset. You will have the chance to craft your trading algorithms and strategies while benefiting from guidance from seasoned traders and developers. You will have significant autonomy and responsibility, learning at an unparalleled pace in a collaborative setting.
Main Responsibilities
Upon initial training, your role will involve enhancing existing strategies, introducing new trading products, and improving trading system technology. Analyzing extensive trading data, interpreting insights, prioritizing them, and developing solutions based on findings will be key tasks. You can anticipate immediate contributions to revenue and are encouraged to innovate new approaches and ideas.
Required Skills
- Proficient in Python coding with 1-3 years of experience
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Curiosity and eagerness to understand algorithmic, high-frequency, quantitative, and liquidity provision trading
- Deep interest and curiosity in blockchain, crypto, and DeFi trends

Monitor and analyze on-chain activity, market volatility, and ecosystem health to identify emerging threats.
Work closely with treasury, quant, and governance teams to ensure risk-adjusted strategies.
Establish and document risk policies and mitigation plans (both operational and token-economic).
Contribute to internal audits, compliance with applicable jurisdictions, and protocol transparency.
Engage with community and DAO contributors to maintain open risk communication
You’re a Great Fit If You
Have 3–5+ years in risk management, quantitative finance, or DeFi / crypto projects.
Know your way around DeFi protocols, liquidity pools, staking, on-chain analytics tools (Dune, Nansen, Arkham, etc.).
Understand tokenomics, smart contract audit principles, and treasury diversification strategies.
Feel at home reading Etherscan, analyzing TVL, and tracking wallet flows.
Communicate clearly, document well, and think both strategically and hands-on.
(Bonus) Have contributed to DAOs or Web3 protocols before — or maybe you’ve been a degen with a spreadsheet.
