What You'll Be Responsible For:
Circle is in search of an experienced Head of Ethics to oversee the design, implementation, and operation of their ethics program. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to establish ethics and compliance goals and coordinate priorities to ensure Circle's adherence to applicable laws and regulations. Your focus will extend to educating and fostering a culture of strong ethics and compliance within the organization.
The Head of Ethics will have the overall responsibility for the effective implementation and execution of controls, managing risk appropriately. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the design and execution of ethics and compliance programs with a focus on achieving desired outcomes.
What You'll Work On:
- Lead the establishment and management of a world-class global ethics function, responsible for developing and managing policies, controls, workflows, and relationships pertaining to internal policies such as the Code of Conduct, Whistleblower Policy, Anti-Corruption Policy, Gifts and Entertainment Policy, Conflicts of Interest Policy, and Insider Trading Policy.
- Proactively identify and manage ethics and compliance risks.
- Provide guidance and advice to employees, including senior management, regarding policy inquiries.
- Drive program objectives and key results, ensuring steady enhancement and scaling.
- Regularly assess policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry practices.
- Develop and implement company-wide training on Ethics and provide targeted training and mentoring worldwide on compliance with the ethics program, Code of Conduct, and related policies.
- Offer support during internal investigations, as necessary.

What You'll Bring to Circle:
- 15+ years of experience in ethics, compliance, legal, risk management, audit functions, or similar roles within a financial institution.
- Experience in fostering a strong ethics culture within a technology or financial services context.
- Expertise in building and enhancing second-line of defense programs.
- Demonstrated experience working with and presenting to senior leadership and board of directors.
- A passion for financial technology and the potential of cryptocurrencies and blockchains, with a collaborative approach and a sense of humor.
- Adaptability to evolving and growing environments, comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
- Familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS, and GSuite.
