About OPEN Data and Infrastructure Day We are hosting OPEN Conference and Hackathon as an annual event to bring together developers, data scientists, entrepreneurs, regulators, and corporations to discuss and educate about the disruptive impact of Web3 compared to traditional internet systems. Our goal is to raise awareness about the need to address the problem of concentrated power over our data and IT technologies. We aim to provide valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities in the next generation of the internet, Web 3.0.
Why is decentralization important and urgent? Trusting centralized systems and handing over control of our future is risky. When someone has access and control over a massive resource, there's a potential for misuse. From the commercial use of our data, we've seen how big Web2 corporations can exploit it. Web 3.0 presents an opportunity and responsibility for us to build better technologies that focus on decentralization and the empowerment of individuals. The OPEN conference is an open platform to challenge ideas and build technologies, infrastructures, and standards across Web3.
